Effects of Combined Treatment of Mudan Granule and Epalrestat on the Overall Curative Effect and Vibration Perception Threshold in Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Patients
Objective To investigate the effects of combined treatment of Mudan Granule and epalrestat on the overall efficacy and vibration perception threshold(VPT)in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods A total of 120 DPN patients admitted to Jinan First People's Hospital from February 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into Mudan Granule group(treated with Mudan Granule),epalrestat group(treated with epalrestat)and combined group(treated with Mudan Granule and epalrestat)according to different treatment methods,with 40 cases in each group.The total effective rate,adverse reactions,VPT index level and traditional Chi-nese medicine syndrome score of 3 groups were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the total ef-fective rate between Mudan Granule group and epalrestat group(P>0.05).The total effective rate of the combined group were higher than those of the Mudan Granule group and the epalrestat group,and the differences were statisti-cally significant(both P<0.05).Mudan Granule group had the lowest incidence of adverse reactions,but there were no significant differences compared with the epalrestat group and combined group(all P>0.05).After treatment,the VPT index levels of the left and right plantar of the combined group were lower than those of the Mudan Granule group and the epalrestat group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in VPT between Mudan Granule group and epalrestat group(all P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of limb weakness,limb numbness and limb pain in the combined group were lower than those in the Mudan Granule group and the epalr-estat group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in tradi-tional Chinese medicine syndrome scores between Mudan Granule group and epalrestat group(all P>0.05).Conclusion The combined application of Mudan Granules and epalestat in patients with DPN can effectively improve symptoms and VPT index levels,and the improvement effect was better than that of single drug therapy,with high safety.
