Objective To investigate the effect of vacuum-assisted closure therapy on wound healing and pain degree in patients with diabetic foot ulcers. Methods A total of 80 patients with diabetic foot ulcers admitted to Nantong Third People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected as the research objects.According to dif-ferent treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine wound treatment, and the observation group used vacuum-assisted closure therapy on the basis of the control group. The wound healing effect, blood inflammation indexes and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the wound depth and ulcer area of the observation group were smaller than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After treatment, the white blood cell count, neutrophil ratio,C-reactive protein and procalcitonin in the observa-tion group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Af-ter treatment, the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Vacuum-assisted closure therapy can promote wound healing in patients with diabetic foot ulcers, improve blood inflammatory indicators, and effectively reduce the degree of pain, which pro-vides an important clinical basis for the comprehensive treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
