Objective To explore the application value of continuous nursing based on peer education in the nursing of adolescents with diabetes mellitus complicated with hypertension.Methods The clinical data of 88 adolescents with diabetes mellitus complicated with hypertension admitted to Fenyang Hospital of Shanxi Province from Septem-ber 2021 to March 2024 were retrospectively selected,and were divided into control group(routine extended care)and study group(extended care based on peer education)according to different nursing methods,with 44 cases each.Blood glucose levels,blood pressure levels and quality of life scores were compared between the two groups.Results After 12 weeks of intervention,the levels of glycated hemoglobin A1c,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,fasting blood glucose,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in both groups were significantly decreased,and the study group were lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After 12 weeks of intervention,the scores of physiological function,social function,mental vitality and physical movement of two groups were significantly increased,and the study group were higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of continuous nursing based on peer education in adolescent diabetic patients with hypertension can effectively control blood glucose and blood pressure levels and im-prove the quality of life.
