Clinical Effect of Auricular Acupuncture,Acupoint Application Combined with Acarbose in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To explore the clinical effect of auricular acupuncture,acupoint application combined with acarbose in the treatment of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Datian County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Sanming City in Fujian Province from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into control group and observation group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with acarbose,and the observation group was treated with auricular acupuncture stimulation and specific Chinese medicine acupoint application on the basis of the control group.The blood glucose levels,clinical efficacy and inci-dence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the levels of fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose in the two groups decreased,and those in the observation group were lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,auricular acupuncture and acupoint application combined with acarbose have a significant effect,which can improve the effectiveness of treatment,improve blood glucose indicators,and have higher safety.
