Objective To analyze the application effect of Pender health promotion model in the nursing of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 120 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Shandong Guoxin Yiyang Group Zaozhuang Central Hospital from July 2021 to June 2023 were retrospectively se-lected and divided into observation group and control group according to different nursing methods, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received Pender health promotion mode nursing intervention based on routine nursing. The medical compliance rate,self-management ability score and blood glucose levels of the two groups were compared. Results After nursing, the medical compliance rate and scores of self-management ability in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After nursing, fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial plasma glu-cose levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion The Pender health promotion model can improve patients'medical compliance and self-management ability, which is conducive to controlling blood glucose levels.
