Effects of Supplemented Liujunzi Decoction on Glucose and Lipid Metabo-lism and Islet Function of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Spleen Deficiency and Dampness Type
Objective To investigate the effects of supplemented Liujunzi Decoction on glucose and lipid metabolism and islet function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)of spleen deficiency and dampness type.Methods From January to August 2024,64 patients with spleen deficiency and dampness type T2DM admitted to the Minqing County General Hospital Provincial Huang Branch were selected as the research objects.According to the different treatment methods,they were divided into two groups,32 cases in each group.The reference group was treated with conventional Western medicine(metformin),and the study group was treated with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine(metformin+supplemented Liujunzi Decoction).The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,glucose and lipid metabolism,islet function and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score of the study group was lower than that of the reference group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the indexes of blood glucose(fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,glycated hemoglobin A1c)and blood lipid(total cholesterol,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol)in the study group were lower than those in the reference group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment,the fasting insulin level and homeosta-sis model assessment of insulin resistance of the study group were lower than those of the reference group,and the ho-meostasis model assessment of β-cell function was higher than that of the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Supplemented Liujunzi Decoction was given in the treatment of T2DM patients with spleen deficiency and dampness type,the application effect was definite,which could effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients,reduce blood glucose and blood lipid levels,and promote the improvement of islet func-tion.
