Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture combined with acupoints on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods A total of 112 patients with diabetic periph-eral neuropathy admitted to Yishui County Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning Service Center from March 2021 to March 2024 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group,56 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conven-tional treatment, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture combined with specific acupoints. The tradi-tional Chinese medicine syndrome score, nerve conduction velocity and therapeutic effect were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in both groups de-creased,and those in the observation group were lower than the control group, the differences were statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).After treatment, the motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of the two groups increased, and the observation group was faster than the control group, the differences were statistically sig-nificant(both P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with acupoint therapy can significantly improve and enhance the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of patients with dia-betic peripheral neuropathy, and can improve the nerve conduction and reflex function of patients. The overall treat-ment effect is better than conventional treatment.
