Arsenic and its compounds are found in nature or produced by human activities.Respiratory inhalation, skin contact, food and water intake are the main routes of arsenic exposure in humans. The health impact of low-dose arsenic exposure in the environment is increasingly important, and environmental arsenic exposure may increase the risk of diabetes development. The artical reviewed the studies on arsenic exposure and the correlation of diabetes on-set in the environment, and also explored the possible mechanism of the increased risk of diabetes onset caused by ar-senic exposure,so as to provide a basis for the prevention of diabetes mellitus.
