At present,the aging of the population in China is intensifying,and the number of elderly people with chronic diseases is increasing year by year,diabetes mellitus is a common chronic disease in the elderly,and elderly appendicitis is a common surgical acute abdomen in the elderly.The occurrence and development of elderly appendi-citis and diabetes mellitus are closely related to age factors.In order to better serve the elderly patients with acute ap-pendicitis combined with diabetes mellitus,this article reviews the current aging situation in China,the research on in-dividualized treatment of diabetes mellitus in recent years,and the progress of endoscopic treatment of elderly patients with acute appendicitis,in order to provide reference for perioperative management of laparoscopic treatment of el-derly patients with acute appendicitis combined with diabetes mellitus.
