The decoupling status between carbon emissions and economic growth is an important basis for judging whether a city has realized green and low-carbon development. This paper analyzes the dynamic evolu-tion trend and spatial distribution pattern of the decoupling status between carbon emissions and economic development of nine cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by using the Tapio decoupling index model and the catch-up decoupling model. The results show that:First, most of the cities in the region have gradually reached the decoupling status between carbon emissions and economic development, and carbon productivity has been significantly improved;Second, the gap between most of the ordinary cities and model cities in the region in terms of carbon emission reduction and economic growth is widening, and the problem of unbalanced and uncoordinated development among cities still exists, which is in urgent need of being solved.
