Design optimization of injection and production wellbore system in salt-cavern compressed air energy storage
Salt cavern is taken as the preferential choice for compressed air energy storage(CAES)due to its sealing and stable performance.CAES can realize the large-scale clean energy storage and the"peaking cutting and valley filling"of electric power supply and demand,which makes it one of the important directions to achieve"dual carbon"goal.The wellbore system composed of wellhead device,injection and production pipe and packer connects CAES with surface equipment,but due to the restriction of gas injection and production rates and the influence of erosive action,the current small-diameter wellbore has a serious restriction to the installed capacity of CAES power station.In order to optimize the injection and production wellbore system of CAES,this paper analyzes the main problems in the design and processing of large-diameter wellhead device,corrosion resistant casing and large-size packer,and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions according to actual engineering.And the following research results are obtained.First,when designing wellhead device,it is necessary to take into account the loading strength of the step for setting the mandrel hanger on the casing head of each layer,and check and verify the parameters such as the collapse strength at the minimum wall thickness of the hanger and the shear strength of the jack screw under the downhole back pressure.Second,when casing material is selected,sufficient consideration shall be put on the applicability of process and economic cost under the working conditions of salt cavern CAES,and it is suggested to adopt corrosion resistant alloy casing where erosion tends to happen easily and cost-effective corrosion resistant casing in the other locations.Third,it is suggested to apply the mandrel design overall to the large-size packer,select hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber or tetrafluoroethylene-propylene rubber for rubber cylinder,and adopt the cage-type barrel shape for slip.In conclusion,the proposed measures for optimizing the design of injection and production wellbore system can provide methods and ideas for the design and optimization of large-size wellbore injection and production system in CAES projects.
