Estimating on Vegetation and Soil Carbon/Nitrogen Storages in Daqing Region
Using the MSS multi-spectral data in 1978, Chinese resources satellite data in 2008 and the second soil general survey data, estimated on vegetation and soil carbon/nitrogen storages in Daqing-typical soil degradation region in Heilongjiang. The results showed that average vegetation carbon densities were 0.58 kg/m~2 in 1978 and 0.67 kg/m~2 in 2008 in Daqing, average soil carbon and nitrogen densities were (9.26±1.73)kg/m~3 and (0.62±0. 17)kg/m~3, respectively. Average land cover soil carbon and nitrogen densities were (8.10±2.34)kg/m~3 and (0.50±0.11)kg/m~3, respectively. Vegetation carbon storages were (9.38×106)t in 1978 and (10.40 ×10~6) t in 2008, vegetation carbon storages increased (1.02 × 106)t in 30 years period. Total soil carbon and nitrogen storages were (187.18±34.95) × 106 t and (125.84±33.66) × 10~5 t, respectively. Total land cover soil carbon and nitrogen storages were (163.68±47.34)×10~6 t and (102.00±22. 55)× 10~5 t, respectively. Daqing's average vegetation and soil carbon densities were lower than China's average levels.
