Vegetation Net Primary Productivity Temporal and Spatial Patterns and Influence Factors Analysis in Weihe Watershed
Integration of remote sensing data and a variety of observational data by GIS to estimate and analyze the spatio-temporal patterns and their contributing factors for the Weihe watershed NPP.The results showed that (1) the average total NPP of the whole watershed in the 12 months was 473 g C/(m2 · a),and the spatial distribution characteristic indicated that the NPP tends to increase from north to south, with the relatively lower values observed in the Loess Plateau to the north and northwest,in contrast to the higher values observed in the centrally located Liupan-Ziwuling Mountains as well as in the Qinling Mountain to the South. Moreover, the average NPP of different ecosystems tend to increase in the order of non-vegetation 61 <grass 376 <agricultural vegetation 440 <shrub 483 <forest 692.(2) The accumulation of NPP in study area focused in the period of April to June due to favorable light and moisture conditions, which accounts for 90% of the total annual NPP.From a seasonal perspective, spring (March to May),summer (June to August),autumn (September to November),winter (December to February) accounts for 20.34%,52.51%,22.66% and 4.49% respectively.(3) Analysis of the correlation coefficient between NPP and temperature, precipitation and solar radiation showed that temperature and precipitation were the important influence factors in the Weihe watershed NPP.
