A pot experiment was carried out to study the effects of 2 kinds of nitrogen sources (urea-N and dung-N) with DCD application on nitrogen uptake, yield and nutritional quality of greenhouse celery. The results showed that the 2 different nitrogen fertilizers (urea and cow dung) with DCD application could improve the yield and nutritional quality of celery to some extent, decrease the content of nitrate in the soil and the accumulation of nitrate in the celery, and consequently reduce the nitrogen losses and improve the nitrogen utilization efficiency significantly.Compared with the single fertilizer treatments, urea and cow dung with DCD application could increase the content of ammonium by 22.71% to 92.97% and reduce the content of nitrate by 12.28% to 56.73%.Meanwhile,the nitrogen uptake amounts in the stem and leaf of celery were increased by 29.24% to 74.89% and 30.89% to 66.33%,respectively,and the nitrogen utilization efficiency of stem and leaf of celery were increased by 16.85% and 30.30%,respectively.Treatments of Urea+DCD and Dung+DCD could also improve the yield and plant height of celery, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05).However,the contents of nitrate of celery were reduced by 37.05% and 17.18% in stem, and by 25.21% and 7.63% in leaf.In addition, the contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein, free amino and Vc were also increased significantly.Overall, the combined application of urea with DCD showed better effects in reducing nitrogen losses, decreasing nitrate accumulation in celery, and improving the nutritional quality of celery.
