Physiological Responses of Different Peanut Varieties to Cadmium Stress
According to early hydroponic experiment in our laboratory, pot cultivation experiment was conducted to investigate the physiological responses of two different peanut varieties (huayu 22 and huayu 20) on the plus soil Cd concentration of 12 mg kg. With this two peanut varieties as test materials, the chlorophyll content of leaves, malondialdehyde content and antioxidant enzyme activities of roots and leaves, cell membrane permeability and products were taking as test parameters. The results showed that when the plus soil Cd concentration was 12 mg kg, the chlorophyll content of leaves and antioxidant enzyme activities were reduced with processing time increase. The Cd treatment group had declined compared with the control group and the decline of huayu 20 was much larger than huayu 22. Especially in the mature period, the SOD, POD and CAT activity of huayu 20 in cadmium treatment group were significantly lower than control group. But the cell membrane permeability and malondialdehyde content were increased with processing time increase. The Cd treatment group had increased compared with the control group and the increase of huayu 20 was much larger than huayu 22. Determination of yield results showed that "huayu 22" and "huayu 20" were shrink by about 13.14 and 26.98 percent respectively. Combining with the analysis above, the Cd pollution had large difference between species of peanuts. Meanwhile SOD, MDA and chlorophyll content changed in a large extent which could as diagnosis index of cadmium pollution and reference index of cadmium varieties resistant.
