Research process on preparation of modified C/C composites by low-temperature reactive melt infiltration
Reactive melt infiltration(RMI)has attracted much more attentions for its advantages of simple processes, low cost, high density and so on,are expected to become the optimized preparation method of matrix modified C/C composites. However,in traditional reactive infiltration, the main problem including the matrix infiltration damage and the residual of infiltration agent affect the properties of composite materials, especially in the ablative resistance. In order to further enhance the performance of reactive infiltration materials, scholars worldwide have undertaken substantial investigations into low-temperature infiltration techniques. In this paper, the aspects of infiltration principle and the influence factors is reviewed. At the same time, the research progress of RMI at relative low temperature in melting components and densification process is summarized. The result shows that Using alloy instead of pure metal as the fusion agent can effectively reduce the reaction fusion temperature and improve the high temperature performance of the composite. Finally, the existing problems and research directions of reactive melt infiltration are pointed out.
