Research on modification and properties of almond shell biochar
Iron based adsorbents,as a common adsorbent, have good adsorption effects on arsenic in water environments and have received widespread attention in the environmental field. This article describes the modification of almond shell biochar by loading iron oxide onto it,and investigates the specific surface area and adsorption performance of the modified almond shell biochar with an activation time of 3 hours,a calcination temperature of 500 ℃,and an iron oxide loading of 3%.The research results show that the modified almond shell biochar has an ordered graphite structure,well-developed micropores, and good adsorption performance; The embedding of iron oxide crystals into the inner walls of large pores turns the original large pores of biochar into many small micropores, reducing the average pore size of biochar and increasing the adsorption performance of modified almond shell biochar; The BET liquid nitrogen adsorption method was used to characterize and analyze the modified almond shell biochar with an activation time of 3 hours,a calcination temperature of 500 ℃,and a 3%iron oxide loading. The specific surface area was 909.75 m2/g,the total pore volume was 0.48 mUg,the micropore volume was 0.344 mL/g,and the average pore size was 4.58 nm.
