Research on Policies,Frameworks and Trends of Elderly Friendly Services in Public Libraries
In the process of population age structure gradually approaching the peak of aging, the improvement and construction of an elderly friendly society are of great significance for achieving common prosperity for all people. The concept of"elderly friendly services"and the"elderly friendly service framework"of public libraries are mainly proposed through research on domestic and foreign policies and academia,as well as the exploration of the connotation of"elderly friendly"in the special group services of public libraries in China.Based on the four principles of universal equality, active participation, value integration, and rights protection, the practical path of elderly friendly services in public libraries should be explored from four dimensions:resources, services, environment, and protection. In the current situation where the whole society is facing aging, fewer children, and digitalization, public libraries should stimulate active participation by resources and services related to self-cognition and social identity, create value integration by organizing activities and projects aimed at intergenerational integration and all-age sharing, strengthen rights and interests protection by implementing the concepts of social inclusion and cultural empowerment.
