Research on the Characteristics and Operating Strategies of Library Service Innovation in China Based on Cases
This article researches on the 31 cases shortlisted in the user research and service innovation cases collection campaign conducted by the professional groups of the Chinese Library Association in 2023.The results show that libraries in the eastern regions of China play active role in service innovation while university libraries show a high level of innovation activity and capabilities.The popular innovation themes are promoting reading,instructional support services,academic support services and space service.The innovative strategies of these cases include serving national development needs to deepen the connotation of service innovation:capturing user demands to optimize the user experience:utilizing advanced technology to improve library service innovation;integrating high-quality resources to develop service features;making the cross-border integration to stimulate innovation potential;and strengthening the construction of library to promote the sustainability of service innovations.Based on these insights,Chinese libraries should enhance cross-border collaboration to promote value co-creation;effectively utilize new technologies to drive deep integration of services and technologies;refine their innovation system framework to encourage service innovation;and actively promote outstanding cases to improve the quality of library services.
