Time Dimension of Shu Mu Da Wen and Comparisons with the Siku Quanshu Zongmu
Shu Mu Da Wen takes"before the Tang Dynasty"as"ancient",the National Dynasty(Qing Dynasty)as"present",and the"Song,Yuan, and Ming people from the omitted",forming a time intention focusing on the two ends of"ancient"and"modern",and history is no longer a homogeneous linear presentation.'Ancient"is the source of value of traditional academics, and"present"has the significance of"academic textology"and"economic benefit"in reality. The time dimension of"ancient"and"present"has become the basic for judging the value and significance of traditional scholarship, and it is also the fundamental principle of the bibliographic system constructed by Shu Mu Da Wen.It shows that the eighteenth-century intellectual structure and belief system embodied in the Qing Dynasty's Siku Quanshu Zongmu underwent fundamental changes at the time of the Westernization Movement nearly a century later.
