Study on the Data Governance for Academic Library under the Background of Digital Transformation
Fully utilizing the data within university libraries is one of the key factors in achieving digital transformation of university libraries.In order to effectively govern data and promote library business innovation,academic library data governance should adopt a targeted data governance framework,draw on the national standard DCMM for data management capability maturity assessment,determine the scope of data governance for key businesses of academic libraries,carry out data governance based on the organizational characteristics of academic libraries,and design data governance processes based on PDCA thinking.Academic library data can be classified into five categories:technical data,resource data,teacher-student achievement data,equity management data,and operational data.Among them,technical data is a key element in resource construction and technology application fields;resource data and teacher-student achievement data are the foundation for libraries to provide services based on data;equity management data is a source of data for service innovation,spatial construction,and team building;operational data provides auxiiiary decision-making in the field of financial security.The data governance process of academic libraries involves determining the business scope,conducting maturity assessments,designing a roadmap,implementing data governance,measuring results,and conducting business operations.In addition,in response to the characteristics of academic library data,the governance of its typical business needs to focus on three aspects:data distribution and metadata management,reference data and master data management,and data quality management.
