Factors Influencing the Selection of Chinese"Representative Works"for Social Science Scholars
"Representative works"are an important basis for evaluating the academic standards of scholars.Exploring the factors that influence scholars in the selection of"representative works"is of great significance to the demonstration of scholars'academic standards and the implementation of the"representative works"system.According to the characteristics of"representative works",this paper examines the scholars from three social science disciplines, namely management, law and library&information,by summarizing the influencing factors in the selection of"representative works"and designing a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. It extracts the main factors with eigenvalues greater than 1 in factor analysis, summarizes the modified influencing factors through the maximum variance rotation method, and establishes a multiple regression model for the selection of"representative works".The study suggests that academic, novel, social, temporal and inherited attributes of"representative works"are the main factors influencing the selection of the representative works of social science scholars.Scholars in different social sciences have different emphases when selecting"representative works".From the perspective of scholars and scientific research management departments, this paper proposes some specific measures to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the"representative works"system.
