On the Protection and Utilization of Great Sites Based on Ontology and Linked Data Technologies
Great sites are closely related to the residents'life and production,urban and rural development,resource conservation and utilization.In the process of rapid urbanization in China,the protection and utilization of great sites have been facing unprecedented pressures.The effective knowledge organization of great sites is a prerequisite for their protection and utilization.Ontology and linked data technologies could provide new methods and realization paths for the knowledge organization of great sites.Firstly,CIDOC-CRM and Time ontology in OWL are reused to build the upper ontology.Secondly,to gain the knowledge concepts and instances of great sites,the top-level structure is built,and knowledge concepts are extracted,which are transformed into entities,object attributes and data attributes of the relevant ontology.Finally,based on the linked data technology,taking the great sites in Xi'an as an example,D2RQ is used to publish the linked data set of relevant knowledge.By constructing the ontology and publicizing the linked data,the semantic association and open sharing of knowledge about great sites are realized,which could provide data support and knowledge services for improving the protection and utilization of great sites.
