Does Technology Anxiety Hinder Senior Citizens'IT Use Willingness?
In current empirical researches on the influencing factors of senior citizens'IT use willingness,as for the effect of technology anxiety on the variables related to IT use,the results are not consistent. The inconsistency of research results not only challenges relevant theories, but also is not good for guiding practice.By means of meta-analysis,this paper first integrates the correlation coefficients of 45 studies, and then analyzes the moderating effects,so as to make clear why and how the inconsistency of research results arises. It is found out that senior citizens'technology anxiety is negatively related to the perceived ease of IT use,the perceived usefulness of IT as well as their IT use willingness.Besides, senior citizens'personal characteristics(i.e.,their educational and technical experiences),their social background(i.e.,their geographical, economic, technological and cultural background)and different types of technology applied are the main influencing factors of the inconsistent research results.
