High-quality Development of Guangdong Public Libraries:Exploration,Experiences and Prospects
Under the strategies of developing China into a cultural powerhouse and building Guangdong into a leading province in culture,and the high-quality development of public cultural services,and the implementation of the Law on Public Libraries,Guangdong's public libraries have seized the new opportunities and made new explorations in the five-year period from 2018 to 2022.This article outlines the exploration of high-quality development of public libraries in Guangdong and their achievements,summarises the"Guangdong experience"of high-quality development of public libraries,and puts forward the future vision of the high-quality development of public libraries in Guangdong.Guangdong public librarians should be keenly aware of the historical mission and social responsibility of libraries,adhere to the people-centered approach,and focus on the theme of high-quality development.Upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground,public libraries in Guangdong should make continued efforts to participate in the national reading campaign,and enhance the value of public library services in terms of making cultural-ethical progress,providing knowledge services and think-tank support,activating wisdom,and promoting innovation.The public library profession in Guangdong will surely usher in a new round of great development and prosperity.
