From"Locating Libraries"to"Roaming Libraries":Study on the Construction of Cultural Tourism Maps for Libraries
In the context of the integration of culture and tourism, libraries have become tourist destinations, and thus they are facing new challenges. The construction of cultural tourism maps is an important way for technology to empower cultural tourism as well as an important means for libraries to improve their services.Based on an analysis of current cultural tourism maps and library guide maps,a model for the construction of cultural tourism maps for libraries is proposed.By means of the WebGIS technology, this model integrates all kinds of data from different resources, including digital humanities resources, paper resources,Internet resources, etc. It could present various types of library information on map websites and display specific functions for specific tourist groups. Then,an empirical research on libraries in Shanghai is conducted, and the Roaming Map of Libraries in Shanghai is constructed. The result shows that this model has competitive advantages in data presentation, data fusion and functional design,so it could help libraries to improve their services and enhance the cultural tourism experience of tourists and readers as well.
