Correlation Between the Dynamic Nature of Individual Information Practices and Policy Perception Gaps
With the increasing polarization of information access,it is necessary to explore the relationship between the dynamics and the level of policy perception in the personal information world.Based on the conceptual framework of personal information world, the study surveyed 516 respondents in 2022,using the experimental design approach. It statistically tests the correlation and differences between the dynamics of information practice and the level of policy awareness of the participants, who are divided into two groups(the cognitive and the control)according to their understanding of policies. This study shows that there is a link between the level of policy awareness and the dynamic nature of individual information practices.Individuals with a high level of policy cognition tend to score higher on the dynamics of their personal information world. Therefore,a viable way to address information poverty is to focus on strengthening individuals'information practices, getting them to take an active role in information practices, and accumulating their information assets so as to increase their awareness.
