Study on the Match between Annual Topic Guidelines and Published Articles in Information Resource Management Journals
Exploring the match between annual guidelines for topics and papers published in journals, and their influencing factors,is conducive to improving the quality of journals and enhancing their academic leadership.Using the annual topic guidelines of 13 journals in the field of Information Resource Management(IRM)between 2017 and 2021 and 11,836 papers published in the six-year period from 2017 to 2022,this paper creates two keyword datasets for the guidelines and the papers respectively, and explores the degree of match between them using corresponding programs written in Python. It analyzes the influencing factors according to the Theory of Planned Behavior, and examines the impact of these factors on the degree of matching using SPSS software. The study finds that the current year's guidelines and the papers published in the two adjacent years of the IRM journal are poorly matched, all below 0.5;and there is a difference in the degree of matching between the current year's guidelines and the papers published in the two adjacent years, with the first year's match being higher than the second year's match. There is a significant correlation between the following factors and the degree of matching:in descending order of influence, the duration of the journal, the proportion of funded papers, and the number of articles;while the number of journal sections, the compound impact factor of journals, the publication cycle, and the average annual length of papers are not related to the degree of matching.
