Research on Cross-border Reconstruction of Urban Reading Space from the Perspective of Symbiosis Theory——Taking the"Reading&Per-forming Arts"Space in Shanghai as an Example
In the integration progress of culture and tourism,cross-border reconstruction has become an important path for the rebirth and development of reading space. At present, the cross-border integration of reading and performing arts in Shanghai could be divided into four types,i.e."bookstore&performing arts","library&performing arts","reading space of cultural centers&performing arts",and"reading space of historical block&performing arts".Guided by the symbiosis theory, this paper makes an analysis of the generation mechanism of the"Reading&Performing Arts"space in Shanghai. The result shows that:The"Reading&Performing Arts"space is a product of energy interaction among multiple entities, including reading units, performing arts units, and consumption units, which is based on a symbiotic medium that integrates physical integration, social connection, and scene coupling. Its interaction behavior modes consist of economic mutual benefit, biased parasitism, cultivation services, and social reciprocity, and its organizational modes consist of point symbiosis, intermittent symbiosis, continuous symbiosis, and integrated symbiosis. At present, the cross-border symbiosis of reading and performing arts has preliminarily demonstrated its value in macro urban renewal, meso cultural ecological optimization, and micro cultural production mode transformation. In the future,it is necessary to promote the optimization of"Reading+"space production through various measures, such as policy tool guidance, expansion of symbiotic units, and construction of symbiotic networks.
