A User Needs Model for Smart Reading Features of Academic Platforms from a Whole Process Perspective
Focusing on the whole process perspective, this paper conducts semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzes the textual data obtained from the interview transcripts using the qualitative analysis tool NVivo12.It collects data from rating scales through a questionnaire method, and statistically calculates the level of users'demand for smart reading features(SRF)in academic platforms at different stages of the reading process based on the mean values.Users'SRF needs in academic platforms are mainly manifested in the demand for high-quality academic resources, the demand for guidance on cognitive reading strategies, and the demand for interactive functions. There are differences in the functional requirements at the stages of reading need recognition, reading search, reading comprehension and application, reading communication and reading problem response. On this basis,a user needs model for smart reading features of academic platforms is developed from the whole process perspective.
