Basic Characteristics and Contemporary Value of Red Books in Central Soviet Area
Red books related to the Central Soviet Area(CSA)are an important part of the red literature(literature related to the heritage of the CPC)of its kind.Taking the CSA-related red books as an example,this paper comprehensively investigates the major museums and public libraries in Jiangxi Province using the methods of literature review,online survey,field survey,and literature statistical analysis,and finds out 256 such red books in the collections.The study shows that the publication of red books in the Central Soviet Area has gone through four stages:rise(1927-1929)-development(1930-1931)-prosperity(1932-1934)-decline(1935-1937);the publishers are mainly government agencies;thematically,the topics of the books are mainly Party and government building,military,culture and education;and most of the books are kept in museums.The paper further explains the value of these books,as historical resources,literature resources,educational resources,cultural and tourist resources,in promoting the in-depth study of the history of the Party and the Soviet regions,collecting and organizing red books,carrying forward the revolutionary culture,and enhancing the development of red tourism.
