In recent years,the Australian libraries has made great achievements in digital preservation,and its practical experience has great guiding value for the implementation of digital preservation in Chinese libraries.This article uses the method of online survey and email consultations to expound the current policies,strategies and standards of digital preservation in Australian libraries,sorts out and summarizes the four practice categories of digital preservation,and analyzes the characteristics of digital preservation in Australian libraries.Combined with the status quo of digital preservation in our country,the paper proposes some suggestions:improving the awareness of preserving traditional culture,building a digital preservation resource library based on the concept of co-constructing,strengthening digital preservation education,and establishing a systematic and complete top-level design of digital preservation,aiming at providing reference for the development of digital preservation in libraries in China.
