The collation and protection of ancient books is an important area of common concern in library science and philology.Its research results are important to the inheritance and development of Chinese excellent culture.In recent years,this field is facing new opportunities and challenges.In theory,how to solve the dispersion of research work and integrate relevant knowledge to form a specialized discipline will provide theoretical guidance for the cause of ancient books.With the rapid development of new technology,how to apply it to solve the problems faced by the collation and protection of ancient books and seize new opportunities in the development of discipline will become an indispensable issue for practitioners in this field.Based on that,the author interviewed Professor Ke Ping,a famous philology expert.Professor Ke Ping has made a detailed and in-depth explanation on the subject orientation,challenges,research paradigm,talent training and other issues of ancient books collation and protection.From the perspective of philology,in-depth study of the collation and protection of ancient books will help us better understand the nature of ancient books.It is expected to achieve more comprehensive and in-depth protection of ancient books and ensure the valuable cultural heritage can be better passed on.
