Investigating the influencing factors and occurrence mechanisms of health information encountering behavior is beneficial to both health informatics and information encountering research.Based on elaboration likelihood model theory, this study empirically investigates the factors influencing users'health information encountering behavior by using partial least squares-structural equation model. At the same time, the moderating effect, simple slope mapping method and hierarchical regression analysis method were used to explore the moderating effect of health information literacy and the interaction between various latent variables. The study showed that health information quality, health source trustworthiness, health information novelty, and social connection positively and significantly influenced perceived usefulness, but the influence of social connection on perceived usefulness was weakened by the other three factors;environmental convenience, emotional state, and perceived usefulness significantly and positively influenced health information encountering behavior, and the influence of environmental convenience was weakened by perceived usefulness;health information literacy positively and significantly moderated the impact of health information quality, health source trustworthiness, and health information novelty on perceived usefulness;the influence of social connection on perceived usefulness was moderated by health information literacy, and high health information literacy played a promoting role, and low health information literacy played an inhibiting role.It is hoped that the results of this study can provide a theoretical reference for relevant organizations and individuals to improve the rational use of health information encountering.
