Elementary and middle school libraries,as an important condition for serving education and teaching,play an important role in supporting the revitalization of rural education.Using a web-based survey method,this paper takes 35 elementary and middle school libraries participating in the IMLS"Transforming School Library Practice"program in rural school districts in the U.S as the research object,and analyzes their educational support practices in terms of their strategic goals,resource development,service initiatives,and spatial transformation.It is found that its characteristics are:scientific strategic planning,participation in teaching and learning,collaboration with social forces,and hierarchical service provision.Based on this,China's rural primary and secondary school libraries can adopt the following development paths for their educational support services:restructuring the development and construction direction,providing teaching and learning services,building a diversified cooperation network,and providing differentiated services.
