The British Library attaches great importance to the construction and utilization of ancient book resources through modern technology.The'Two Centuries of Indian Print'project is one of its influential ancient book digitization projects led by the British Library.Taking it as an example,this article uses online survey methods to summarize the characteristics of digital construction of ancient books in this project and concludes with three prominent experiences in utilizing digital resources:hosting online exhibitions,establishing user interactive sections,and organizing thematic seminars.Based on this,when carrying out digitization work for ancient books,Chinese institutions responsible for preserving ancient books can actively seek cooperation with relevant organizations,promote the application of modern technology,diversify forms of resource utilization,and innovate communication strategies.These will further promote the inheritance and utilization of cultural heritage.
