Schools of information resources management in China have begun to promote the construction of data science-related majors,and in this process,it is necessary to actively learn from foreign experiences.This paper uses case study method to study the curriculum system and training mechanism of the data science program at Drexel University iSchool through web-based data collection.It also compares and analyzes all course contents since the establishment of data science program in 2015.This study proposes that in the process of promoting data science education development,schools of information resources management in China can learn from the experience of Drexel University iSchool,it includes:closely adhering to the needs of big data talent cultivation,highlighting the characteristics of the discipline of information resources management,actively exploring interdisciplinary talent cultivation modes,focusing on the practical ability cultivation,and enriching the types of professional education.
