In order to facilitate lifelong learning for the elderly,the design of learning spaces for elderly readers in libraries can draw on relevant theories and principles of environmental psychology.Environmental psychology focuses on the interrelationships between individuals and the environment,paying attention to the impact of the environment on individual behavior and perception,provides a foundation for understanding the design of learning environments.Starting from the environmental perception,spatial cognition,and spatial behavior of elderly readers,this article summarizes the design principles of learning spaces for elderly readers in libraries,and explores the design strategies of learning spaces for elderly readers in libraries,including spatial pattern construction,spatial visual perception,spatial auditory field,spatial tactile level,and reader emotional demands,in order to provide a comprehensive and optimized learning environment for elderly readers.
