In the new media era,video social media has become an important means for libraries to provide services and publicity.This paper uses online research and content analysis methods to select 400 popular videos from 80 libraries in China and the United States for research and analysis.Firstly,it compares and analyzes the basic operation situation of video accounts in Chinese and American Libraries.Secondly,the characteristics of video operations in Chinese and American libraries are compared from five aspects:video title,theme category,display type,video duration and screen character.Finally,the outstanding advantages of popular video operations in Chinese and American libraries are absorbed to provide relevant insights for Chinese libraries to utilize video social media for operation and promotion.
