In recent past 20 years,the prosperity of iSchool movement has made remarkable achievements in the discipline of information resource management(IRM)on interdisciplinary integration,technology application innovation and social responsibility.This article aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the interrelation of the iSchool movement and IRM discipline and explore how such movement facilitates the evolution of the IRM discipline.Using literature analysis method,it reviews the emergence and development,goals and vision,current problems and shortcomings of the iSchool movement.It argues that the disciplinary construction concepts,research directions,pedagogy,and alliance with industry in the iSchool movement have played critical roles in breaking the bottleneck of IRM development in the 21th century.The interdisciplinarity of the iSchool movement is the source of IRM disciplinary reform.It elucidates the implications of the iSchool movement for future IRM discipline development from the perspectives of giving full play to the interdisciplinary features,emphasizing the application of data intelligence technology,and promoting the internationalization of research and education.
