The comparative analysis of master's degree education in library science between China and the United States is not only beneficial for fully drawing on the advanced experience of master's degree education in library science in the United States,but also for vigorously promoting the high-quality development of master's degree education in library science in China.Through exploring the training institutions,majors,training objectives,training modes,professional courses,training direction and training requirements of the master's degree education in library science of 27 universities in China and America,and analyzing whose respective characteristics includes basic attribution,path direction,core content,and quality specification,we put forward that master's degree education in library science of China should take the information as the core to clarify the basic attribution,adjust the path direction based on the principle of demand,take subject as the standard to perfect the core content,and take purpose as the guidance to standardize the quality specification.
