Health information service in public libraries has been an increasingly important research topic.The comparative analysis of health information services in foreign public libraries is helpful for us to deeply understand their advantages and provide experience and enlightenment for our country.Case studies and network surveys were used to obtain the relevant data of health information services of public libraries in the United States,Britain,Japan,Australia and Canada.This paper compares the differences of these health information services in service object,information resource,service content,service subject and guarantee mechanism.It summarizes their health information service experience and the enlightenment to China,including paying attention to the strategic planning of health information service in public libraries,exploring the mode of co-construction of health information resources with"multi-force participation",enriching the ways and contents of health information service,and attaching importance to the improvement of health information literacy of public librarians.
