Abstract
The discovered"Ri Yue Guang Jin"coins are divided into two types,octagonal gear shape and round shape,and there are five kinds of foreign letters inscriptions.These foreign letters inscriptions are all in Old Uighur,in which appear Mani,Chinese loan words Pusar(Bodhisattva),as well as Sanskrit loan words ärtini(treasure)and patma(lotus).The octagonal gear-shaped coins were made in the Uighur Khanate period while the round were built in the Uighur Khanate period and the Xizhou Uighur Kingdom period.The foreign letters inscriptions of"Ri Yue Guang Jin"coins record the history of the rise and fall of Uighur Manichaeism,and reflect the exchange and integration of different cultures along the Silk Road.
