Abstract
The military flags in the Tang Dynasty have been described in the document at that time.There are also many images of military flags in the Tang Dynasty murals.Based on the investigation of the military flags in mural paintings,we can see that there are many kinds of flags in the Tang Dynasty army,with different shapes and structures of six standard flags,gate flags,five colors flags,team flags and identification flags.Its color is mainly red and yellow,with green,white,black,light red and crimson colors.The patterns are falcon,phoenix,luan,scarlet bird,dragon,tiger,bear,sun and moon and so on.These flags are mainly used in defense,military training and actual combat,as well as play an important role in military activities.
