Abstract
Chang'an women in the Tang Dynasty were important participants in the capital's festival activities. The paper-cutting in the new year, the gift of colorful woven fabrics to each other during the Dragon Boat Festival, the banquet and the gift of food to each other during the festival all reflect that the Chang'an women, while performing their family responsibilities, also created a happy and harmonious festival atmosphere for their families and society.Women's entertainment and competitive activities brought more happy to the social environment, while the folk festival singing and dancing and the performance of female artists push the festival atmosphere to a new high. All these activities with high participation of women reflected the richness and diversity of Chang'an festival activities and the inclusiveness and openness of social culture in the Tang Dynasty, especially before the Middle Tang Dynasty.
