Investigation on Users-centered Data Visualization Literacy Service in University Libraries
[Purpose/Significance]By studying users'needs on data visualization literacy service,the study aims to develop targeted service strategies which can improve users'data visualization literacy level in university li-braries.[Method/Process]Through questionnaire survey,the paper investigated the data visualization practices and service needs among college students,teachers and researchers.It classified and prioritized the needs on the Kano model,analyzed library quality elements on the QFD model,and finally proposed the key service strategies of data visualization literacy cultivation.[Result/Conclusion]Most users think it is necessary for libraries to provide data visualization literacy service.Users'needs are mainly attractive quality-related needs.The service content needs emphasize on knowledge skills but ignore ethics.The service form needs highlight in-depth services but overlook basic services.The service provider needs underscore quality skills but neglect identity sources.In addition,the service base needs focus on software and hardware resources construction but understate service spaces.Universi-ty libraries should broaden the services boundary to provide innovative data visualization literacy service modes,strengthen the construction of service team to enhance librarians'skills,improve data visualization skills training to enhance comprehensive data visualization literacy,and consolidate the basic resources to secure the supportive capacity.
