Shared Library Service Platform:Practical Path and Enlightenment for the Reconstruction of Foreign Library Consortia
[Purpose/Significance]Reviewing the trends and cases of shared library service platform in for-eign library consortia can provide clearer development ideas for domestic library consortia.[Method/Process]By collecting consortium related data from the Library Technology Guides database,the article analyzed the growth trend,migration trend,and platform type of the consortium shared library service platform.Then,through literature and online research,it summarized the implementation plans,organizational methods,and project effectiveness of foreign library consortia from a case perspective.[Results/Conclusions]The results indicate that foreign library consortia have undergone large-scale migration over three periods.It has shown a trend of centralization and assim-ilation.The experience of foreign consortia indicates that suitable platform products,rigorous project planning,and a technical consortium structure are the main factors for the success of consortium reconstruction.
