The Application of Qualitative Comparative Analysis(QCA)in the Field of Library and Information Science
[Purpose/Significance]In recent years,qualitative comparative analysis(QCA)has attracted much attention in the field of library and information science.Sorting out and analyzing the application of QCA is helpful to innovate the empirical research methods and promote its development in LIS.[Method/Process]Through bibliometrics and content analysis method,this paper reviewed the literature on QCA in LIS,and summarized the characteristics from literature distribution,QCA method types,samples,conditional variables and the cooperation with other data analysis methods.[Result/Conclusion]QCA has been widely used in LIS research for its loose requirements on the number of research samples,diverse selection of sam-ples and conditional variables,and easily being used together with structural equation modeling,regression analysis and other data analysis methods.It is necessary to further explore the extension of the research field and problems,the combination with common theories,and the application value in dealing with dynamic time sequence in LIS.
