Unraveling the Adaptation Model Between Mobile Office Applications and Users Based on BERTopic Model
[Purpose/Significance]The use of technical application software is inseparable from the effective interaction with users.Taking mobile office application as an example, this study aims to explore how its development and update can efficiently respond to users'needs, and how users can efficiently adapt to its functions for its advantag-es.On this basis,it identifies the two-way adaptive behavior paths and explores the adaptive patterns between users and technology.[Method/Process]This study selected the top ten mobile office APPs on the best-selling list of busi-ness APPs on iOS platform, and obtained 235,216 reviews and 553 version update log data from 1 January 2020 to 10 December 2022.Using the BERTopic topic model,it thematically analyzed the update log text and user reviews with text analysis and qualitative research methods, and compared the differences in supply and demand between the tech-nology and user.Subsequently,it took a BERT-based text matching algorithm to match user reviews with update log items in terms of similarity, and identified two-way adaptation paths with the time dimension features.[Result/Con-clusion]There are three interactive adaptation behavior paths between users and applications, that is,user-technology adaptation,(technology-)user-technology-user bi-directional adaptation, and technology-user adaptation path.At the same time, there are two unidirectional release behavior paths of user and technology. The study obtains three tech-nology-user adaptation models. For the top ten mobile office APPs,the user-led and the user-technology bidirectional ones are the most important, while the technology-led is the one with the smallest percentage.
