Study on Factors Influencing Users'Immersive Information Retrieval Performance in Virtual Reality Contexts
[Purpose/Significance]This paper designs and conducts experiments to explore the influence mech-anism of user immersive information retrieval performance in virtual reality contexts and to provide suggestions for the construction of virtual reality information retrieval systems.[Method/Process]The study adopted the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality device to record the performance data such as retrieval duration, recall rate, skin conductance response, etc.of 32 participants completing tasks in different virtual reality context themes.Data on subjective vari-ables such as subjects'immersion and retrieval experience were obtained through the post-test questionnaire to ex-plore the relationship between virtual reality scene themes and users'subjective retrieval experience on their retrieval performance through regression analysis.[Result/Conclusion]Virtual reality contexts result in higher immersion for participants in non-preferred contexts than in preferred contexts. The themes of virtual context has no effect on user retrieval performance.Users'retrieval immersion, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use,and satisfaction all significantly and positively affect their performance in completing exploratory retrieval tasks, with satisfaction as the full mediating variable. This study gives some implications for the improvement of users'information retrieval per-formance in virtual reality contexts.
